It is with much sadness that the Setlakwe family must announce the death of Mrs. Yvette Bourque Setlakwe, which occurred on July 5, 2024, at the St-Alexandre housing center in Thetford Mines. Mrs. Yvette Setlakwe was born on January 29, 1928, in Sherbrooke. She joined her husband and lifelong partner, the Honorable Raymond C. Setlakwe; and her parents, the late John Samuel Bourque and the late Dorimène Brien. Mrs. Yvette leaves behind her four children, Louise (Philip Lanthier), Paul (Dominique Lanctôt), Ann (Eddy Blouin), and Robert (Danielle Cyr); her six grandchildren, Jonathan and Alitia Duguay, Olivier and Emilie Setlakwe, Philippe and Margo Setlakwe Blouin; as well as her twelve great-grandchildren. She leaves each of them the values of respecting others and the importance of family unity. Everyone will remember her sense of humour. She loved and was loved in return. She was the sister of the late Marcel Bourque (the late Yolande Émond), the late Dr. Jacques Bourque (the late Gisèle Émond), and the late Pierre Bourque (Yollande Chevalier). She was the sister-in-law of the late Richard (the late Carmen Languerand), the late Linda, and Stephen (Colette Talbot). She also leaves behind many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends around the world. The family will receive condolences on Friday, August 9th, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., as well as on Saturday, the day of the funeral, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Gamache & Nadeau Ltée Funeral Home, 590 St-Alphonse Sud Street, Thetford Mines. The religious service for Mrs. Yvette Bourque Setlakwe will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10th, at 10:30 a.m. at St-Alphonse Church in Thetford Mines. It will also be possible to view this celebration later by clicking on "Funeraweb Broadcast" on the memorial page of Mrs. Yvette Bourque Setlakwe. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Château Bellevue, Thetford Mines Hospital, and the CHSLD St-Alexandre who have provided constant support and dedication. A sincere thank you also to Marcelle Cyr, who has been of exemplary help and friendship, as well as to France Cyr and Jocelyne Pomerleau for their presence and support.
