It is with profound sadness that the family of Terry and Coral Charles announce the death of their parents in Ridgeway, Ontario. Terry and Coral were married on September 29, 1961 and died within 25 days of each other. Both died from cancer, leaving their children and grandchildren reeling from a double loss. They leave their dear daughter, Tracey Gabet, son-in-law Greg Gabet, granddaughter Emily and grandson Kyle, of Georgetown and their treasured son, Andrew Charles, of Oakville. Living in the same town as their grandchildren was a source of joy to Coral and Terry for 20 years. They simply adored Emily and Kyle and saw them on a daily basis. Terry was affectionately known as "Grumpies" and Coral was known as "Nanna". Coral and Terry were both born in England and they moved to Georgetown in 1970 to start a new life. They visited England often and were totally connected to their English relatives all their lives. They loved living on Wilson Court for 45 years and were very fond of their neighbours. In retirement, they decided to move to Ridgeway (near Fort Erie) and enjoyed five years there. Terry was a life-long policeman, and was an Inspector in Peel Regional Police for 27 years. Coral spent 25 years working in the office of Georgetown Terminal Warehouse, where she met her lifelong buddies, Cheri Faulkner, Kay Shebib, Marion McGugan and Lois Fraser. Terry was a character, full of jokes, humour and sass. He loved teasing people and often referred to Coral as "The Dragon Lady". He had a knack for making outrageous faces (and comments!). Coral was always in the background, indulgently laughing at her husband's antics and saying "Oh, Terry!" to indicate when it was enough. The family wishes to thank the Home Care Nurses, doctors and hospital in Ridgeway for their assistance. The family requests that contributions to the
Cancer Society be made in lieu of flowers. Condolences and donations can be sent to the family in care of Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave, Fort Erie.
