Derek Kent LAMBERT

Suddenly, in his 44th year on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his home in Georgetown. Derek, beloved husband and best friend of 17 years to Diana (nee Hunter) and loving and doting father of Graeme. Loved son of Heather and Rick Lambert and son-in-law of Ulrike (Erika) and Ian Hunter. Dear brother of Devon (Mitchell) Mackay. Dear uncle of Aubrey, Ainsley, Addison, and Lachlan. Derek will be deeply missed by his family, students, colleagues, and his many friends. Derek was entirely devoted to his family and always was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Teaching was his passion, and he had been inspiring elementary students in the Peel District School Board in Brampton for 18 years. He had a wicked sense of humor, a kindness that was unsurpassed, and a knack for handling any situation with ease. Derek was always busy with something, whether that was building something in the garage, learning a new skill, or spending time building Lego with his son. His energy and helpfulness meant that he made a difference to every person he met. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, (905) 877-3631, on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 1 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. A celebration of Derek's life will be held in the chapel on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 1 p.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to an education trust fund for his son Graeme would be greatly appreciated.
