Gerrit Steenhuis, 89, of Georgetown, ON, passed away on May 23rd in Bennett Long Term Care. Funeral service was held at Jones Funeral Home on May 26th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Paul Ivany officiating. Visitation was held at 10 a.m. Gerrit Steenhuis was born in Middlestum, Holland to John and Greta Steenhuis on November 27, 1933. He worked as a forklift driver at Oseco Seeds for 30 years. He enjoyed Playing Cards, Fishing, Camping, Boating, Horseshoes and many other activities over the years.Gerrit is survived by his wife, Genny of 61 years of Georgetown. Sons: Paul, Mike (Sherry), Sister: Theresa, Brother: Larry (Jean), Grandchildren: Doug (Rachelle), Jesse, Bradley, Kassie (Todd), Great-Grandchildren: Parker and Hudson. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Greta, sister Alice, brother Edward. Memorial donations may be made to Georgetown Bennett Long Term Care or Georgetown Hospital.
