Roger Clark Obituary

Born in Dewsbury, England and moved to Canada in 1947. Grew up in Georgetown, ON. Through the years lived in Strathroy, Acton and Hillsburgh, ON. Beloved husband to Susan (nee Gibson). Beloved father to Leanne (Brian) McInall, Chad Clark, Adrienne (Krisztian) Szabo, Lauren (Chris) Monteith, Paul (Susie) Schavo, and Robin (Lindsay) Schavo. Missed by grandchildren Christopher, Zachary, Annelise, Auden, Elliot, Connor and Evie; whom he adored.
Lifetime member of Scouts Canada. He was a proud Gillwellian.

Roger's happy go lucky attitude and positivity shone through always and he filled people's lives with love, laughter and friendship. His family meant everything to him.

Roger was involved in Scouts Canada his entire life. He had 49 years of service, received the Silver Acorn award in 2018 for "especially distinguished service in Scouting" as well as the Centennial Medal in 2007. He was a proud Gillwellian.

Roger worked at Northern Telecom for 30 years, yet his most rewarding job was after retirement as a bus driver in Acton, ON. He enjoyed meeting people and made meaningful connections with each of his passengers.

Roger was a handyman who created may projects and helped with renovations, big or small, for his family and the Scouts. In the last six months of his life, he was proud of the kitchen renovation he completed at the Scout House in Strathroy, ON.

Roger loved to garden, canoe, camp and spend time outdoors whether it was biking, hiking, or sitting in the yard enjoying the sound of the birds or singing by a crackling campfire.

Cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 14, 2021. Please RSVP to [email protected] due to possible COVID restrictions.

Donations, should you choose, may be sent to Scouts Canada, 1st Strathroy Scouts.
