MADSEN, Eldon
1935 - 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eldon Madsen at the age of 87 years. He went to be with his Lord and Saviour at Outlook Hospital on November 19, 2023. Eldon was born on December 29, 1935. He took his schooling in the Broderick area and finished high school at the LCBI in Outlook. This is where he found his love of music, by singing in the choir. He began working with CP Rail as a station agent and then later worked with Federated Co-op in Herbert and Earl Grey. There he met Marlene. After they were married, they decided to farm in the Ardath area. Eldon enjoyed being a part of the community and served on the Outlook School Unit Board, the Credit Union Board and various other community organizations. Eldon enjoyed playing fastball, golfing, downhill skiing, and fishing at the family cabin. Eldon and Marlene retired from farming and moved to Saskatoon in 1992. They began travelling and enjoying their retirement. They moved back home to Outlook in 2009 to enjoy their quieter years and to be closer to their cabin at Hitchcock Bay. Eldon's biggest passion was his family. He was married to the love of his life for over 58 years. He had three children and three grandchildren. Eldon was proud of his Norwegian heritage and had a remarkably close relationship with his family in Norway. Eldon is survived by his wife Marlene, his sons David and Bryan (Kammi), his daughter Lori (Bobby); grandchildren Jacob, Lauren, and Neil; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Special thanks are extended to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Outlook Hospital for all the care and support given to Eldon. Donations can be made, in lieu of flowers, to the
Charity of Your Choice. A Service of Remembrance took place on Monday November 27, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Outlook, SK. To share memories and condolences, visit
