JENSEN Grant Obituary

JENSEN, Grant
1944 – 2024
With profound sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Grant Jensen of Milden, SK, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the age of 79 years. He was born on Friday, April 21, 1944. Grant is lovingly adored and remembered by his wife, Karen, of 58+ years, and their family: daughter Jeannie (Steve) Shrout of Calgary, Alberta, and granddaughters Alyssa Shrout of Kelowna, BC, and Brianna Shrout of Calgary, Alberta; daughter Penny Verhagen of Victoria, BC and grandsons Joshua Verhagen and Jacob Verhagen of Victoria, BC and their father Mike Verhagen. Grant is survived by many loved brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, and nieces. He is predeceased by both parents, Chris and Lois Jensen, all his brothers and sister, a great nephew and brothers and sisters-in-law. Grant enjoyed a lifetime with his love and best friend, Karen. They raised two daughters and are further blessed by their son-in-law and grandchildren, all of whom he cherished deeply. He had many good years of farming, cleaning grain, and being available to support his community as a volunteer firefighter, RM councilor, hospital board member, and volunteer at Milden Rink. He made lifelong friends in the community of Milden and surrounding areas. Just before his recent retirement and enjoying his friends at Coffee Row, he was a farm mentor and shared his vast farming knowledge and expertise with many others. He enjoyed camping and boating with family and friends, hunting, fishing, golf, travel, family vacations, puzzles, playing cards, and family gatherings. He took pride in nurturing the homestead of his grandfather's ("the park"), which is still proudly held in the family. After weekly Sunday church service and a nap, he was a fan of afternoon drives, looking at the land and sharing a meal out with friends or family. He enjoyed chatting with old and just-made friends. Above all else, he put God and family first. He will be sadly missed by many. A Funeral Service in honor of Grant was held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Milden Alliance Church in Milden, SK. Interment followed at Milden Cemetery. Donations in Grant's memory may be made to Ranger Lake Bible Camp (#100-2543 Dudley Street Saskatoon, SK S7M 5V3).
