SINCLAIR Ross Obituary

SINCLAIR, Ross December 5, 1940 – April 16, 2022 The passing of Ross Sinclair of Saskatoon and formerly of Birsay, Sask. occurred on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Lucky Lake Health Centre at the age of 81 years. Ross is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Sharon; and their family, Brian (Loretta) Sinclair and their children, Andrea and Alissa; and Valerie (Grant) Pennington and their children, Cassidy and Kyle; brother-in-law, Ross (Audrey) Miller; niece, Carol (Keith) Swenson; and nephew, Doug McIntosh (Debbie Trumbley). He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Sinclair; his sister, Mabel (Vic) McIntosh and by his in-laws, Bud and Ellen Millar. Ross grew up on the family farm east of Birsay and took his schooling in Birsay. Ross's father passed away when Ross was only 15 years old. Following his passing, Ross began his farming career, with the help of his brother-in-law, Vic. In 1963, Ross married Sharon (Millar) and they continued to live on the Sinclair family farm till 2016. Ross' heart has always been in farming, operating a grain and cattle farm and he welcomed the opportunity to irrigate when it came into the area. Ross continued to farm, helping his son, Brian, up until 2021. Ross always made time for others. He loved watching his grandchildren cheering them on in ball, hockey, volleyball, curling, swimming and water sports. He was very community minded serving on several boards as well as councilor for the R.M. of Coteau and Reeve for many years. Ross was a regular at coffee row over the years in Birsay as well as Market Mall in Saskatoon where he made many friends. He also loved his sports: curling, hockey, ball, football and golf being both a player and spectator over the years. Ross and Sharon spent many years at Palliser Park with their family, first camping and then purchasing a cottage where they enjoyed meeting new people, the Pancake Breakfast every Sunday and golfing. They also spent many years in Yuma and Mesa where they enjoyed it very much. Ross loved to watch Spring Training. They also enjoyed time in Hawaii and a cruise. Our family is very grateful for the care Ross received in R.U.H., Outlook Hospital and at the Lucky Lake Health Centre where he spent his final days surrounded by family and many friends. A funeral service for Ross was held on Saturday, April 23 at the Birsay United Church with Rev. Jan Coffey-Olson officiating, Elaine Pajunen as organist accompanied by the choir, Doug McLean presiding over the register and Murray Cook and Alan Trumbley ushering. Pallbearers were all who shared in Ross' life. A touching eulogy was read by Ross' grandchildren, Andrea, Alissa, Cassidy and Kyle. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery with lunch and fellowship following at the Birsay Community Hall. Arrangements were in care of the Outlook Funeral Chapel. __________________________________________________
