STEPHENSON, Darren Sean
December 6, 1968 –
March 14, 2023
Darren passed away peacefully at RUH in Saskatoon surrounded by family. He was born in Saskatoon, but from an early age was a farmer at heart spending many wonderful summers at the Somerville farm by Milden. Darren graduated from Evan Hardy and went on to receive a B.A. in History from the U of S which allowed him to add to his already extensive random fact file and cement himself as the family Trivial Pursuit champion and sought-after partner! Darren and Shannon were married in 1994 and moved to Milden where they started their family, welcoming Skylar in 1998 and Kendyl in 2001. In 2007, the family moved to a farm near Outlook which allowed for an expansion of our four-legged family and although he might not have been a fan, Darren went along with it as he always did! Darren was a natural athlete and excelled at many sports, with hockey becoming his passion. His years playing for the Conquest Merchants meant so much more than sport, as he loved being part of the community and developed lifelong friendships. Darren shared this passion with both daughters, as his role expanded into coaching their teams throughout their hockey careers. Darren eventually returned to farming, working at Barton Farms until his passing. There was not one day he didn't want to go to work and valued his coworkers, loved the life and so enjoyed his chats around the coffee pot. Darren was a lesson in resilience and perseverance to all who knew him. He didn't let his chronic health challenges dictate how he lived his life. Darren will be remembered for his love for his family and friends, a lifetime of farming, his Habs, and an extensive playlist of music. Restoring vehicles to their former glory was a passion Darren shared with his dad, and best friend, Dale. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Shannon, daughters Skylar and Kendyl, father Dale, sister Shauna (Kirk) Anderson, brother-in-law Cory (Laura) McArthur, sister-in-law Amber (Greg) Stang as well as his niece and nephews. Darren was predeceased by his mom, Elaine, in-laws Orval and Audrey McArthur, cousin Jody Somerville and other extended family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a
Charity of Your Choice or Conquest Community Rink (Box 124 Conquest S0L 0L0,
