THOMSON, Robert Lee
1967 – 2024
Robert Lee Thomson, born on October 24, 1967, to Rodney and Elaine Thomson, was a true son of the Saskatchewan soil. Raised on the family farm, where he still resided, Robert's spirit thrived amidst the vast expanse of fields and skies. A man of the land, Robert's love for the outdoors ran deep, matched only by his passion for anything with at least four wheels. From paving roads to working as a farmhand and navigating feedlots, Robert's work ethic was as sturdy as the prairie wind. After a year at SIAST, where he honed his carpentry skills, which he used for the rest of his life. Robert embarked on a journey that saw him hauling livestock, potatoes, gravel, and logs across the province. Yet, his heart always remained tethered to the family farm, so it was no surprise when he returned so he and Isabelle could raise their sons, Ethan and Eric the same way he was brought up. Robert added to the cattle herd, rented land, and began farming with his dad and brother Collin. Ethan later joined Eric filling in when they needed extra help. Robert's dedication to agriculture extended beyond his farm gates. He played an integral role in managing the King George Co-op pasture, eventually assuming the role of president. His tireless efforts both in the office and out in the field ensured the success of the pasture for years to come. Tragically, Robert had a heart attack on Easter Sunday, he was taken to RUH by STARS. Though weary upon his return home, there was a glimmer of hope as he started to feel better. However, despite this brief respite, the heavens reclaimed him peacefully in his own bed. In honor of Robert's life, his family kindly requests donations to STARS, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his community. Robert's legacy is one of profound love and cherished memories. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he may be gone, his spirit lives on in the fields he tended and the hearts he touched. A Celebration of Life in honor of Robert was held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Dinsmore Community Hall in Dinsmore, SK. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to Stars. To share memories, express condolences, and find additional information, please visit
