Bruce McArthur Obituary
Bruce's journey through the pain and struggle of cancer and advancing age has now ended. He died peacefully at Hospice Peterborough encircled by the tender care of his wife, his kids, their partners, and his granddaughter. Bruce demonstrated his deep love and gratitude for his family in a million different ways over the weeks leading up to his death.
Bruce is survived by Marylin (nee Cannon), the love of his life and wife of 59 years, and his adult children, Gord (Leanne), Joanne (Paul), and Gail; his grandchildren, Emily (Neil), Taylor (Courtney), Michael and Garrett; his great-grandchildren, Louise, Freddy, Eldon and Marnie; his sister Donna (Jim), brother Wayne (Barb); brother-in-law Jack (Cathy), sisters-in law Lorraine (Carl), Pat, Mary (Bob); and his many loving nieces, nephews, their partners and offspring. Bruce also leaves behind an enormous circle of friends, all of whom have enriched his and Marylin's lives immeasurably.
Bruce was raised in Kirkland Lake and King Kirkland, Ontario, and after their marriage, he and Marylin settled in Acton, Ontario, where they raised their family. Bruce was an Ontario Provincial Police Officer for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1991. In 1997 Bruce and Marylin moved to Peterborough, Ontario, where they have lived ever since.
Bruce will be remembered for many wonderful qualities, but especially his devotion to Marylin, and his deep love for - and commitment to - his family and friends. Rest in peace, Bruce. You will be dearly missed.

Bruce's Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church (1066 Western Ave., Peterborough). A reception will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Peterborough Curling Club (2195 Lansdowne St. W.)

Dear Marilyn and family, So sorry to hear about Bruce's passing. My mom (Jean) and dad (Roy Jackson) also passed this year, (Mom on June 17th, and Dad a week later) otherwise I am sure they would have been in touch with you.
