Catherine Patricia "Cathy" Moore

Surrounded by her family at Hospice Peterborough on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the age of 70. Beloved wife of Bill Shaw and the late Dennis Moore. Loving mother of Jennifer Moore and Ryan (Michelle Leahy/Ferreri). Proud grandma of Bridget, Maggie and Jacqueline. Sister of Shirley Soos (late Leslie), Lois Lovshin (Norm), Thomas Butler (late Mary Anne), Mary Bax (Russell), Joanne Hackwood, the late John Butler (Cathy) and the late Robert Butler. Cathy will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Cathy loved talking to people and was a dedicated member of the community, enjoying time spent with friends and neighbours. Her many loyal and life-long friends share the loss. Catherine was in her first term as a Councillor for the Township of Cavan Monaghan, formerly owner/operator of Bridget Anastasia's Gifts and Home Décor and co-owner of Dennis Moore Auto Repair. Cathy loved to learn; Gardening, crafts, conversation, travel, and art were cherished activities. She lived to bring together family and friends, bonding with all that met her. Friends will be received at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29th. Proof of full vaccination, along with government issued ID are mandatory to attend indoor visitation services for those age 12 and older. Masks are required. A private family service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. A livestream of the service will be available through the funeral home webpage. Interment will follow at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. In memory of Cathy donations to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation - Cancer Care would be appreciated by the family.
