Doris Baskerville Obituary

July 27, 1930 - November 13, 2021
Doris passed peacefully at home with family at her side. Predeceased by her husband Gordon, children Jane and Barbara, sister Lois, and brother Elmer. Survived by her dearest sister Helen Brook of Parry Sound. Doris is in the hearts of daughters Susan Wood (Paul), Carol Slade (David), and sons Jim (Joanne), and Tom (Sandra). Doris enjoyed beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their kids, and friends - old and new. She felt so blessed. Doris and long-time friend, Marie, were like sisters. Peterborough services including Community Care, doctors, occasional home nurses, privately arranged personal support, and neighbors were lovely over the years - and helped make Doris's wish to remain in her home come true.
There will be a private family celebration of life in future. If desired, memorial donations to Kidney Foundation of Canada or PRHC Foundation (Cancer Care, Oncology Clinic) is appreciated. Online condolences can be made at www.comstockkaye.com

Hi Sue and family. So sorry to hear about your mom. Such a lovely lady. I remember her from St. Luke's and of course at the library book sales. Our condolences to all.
It's sure been a long time since Gold Lake.

My condolences to Doris’ family and friends. I will remember her for the many years of volunteer service she gave as a member of the Friends of the Peterborough Public Library. Along with her friend Marie, she helped with the organization and sale of children’s books donated by the community—helping to raise funds for the library.

Doris was a lovely lady who gave my son Shamus his first job at age 10. For him it was a simple job of taking the garbage to the curb once a week. He always looked forward to his chats with Doris. And will fondly remember his last chat with her while she was standing on the kitchen looking amazing as usual.
We send out deepest condolences to the family and may Doris rest comfortably in peace

With love and gratefulness

Our condolences to the family. Doris was a lovely person. Our parents, Edith and Wes Edwards, were long time and dear friends of Doris and Gord. They spent many years enjoying their company at their cottages on Baptiste Lake as well as trips around Ontario. We remember her with great fondness.
