Dorothy LACEY Obituary
LACEY, Dorothy Helen (nee Telford) Friends and family are remembering the late Dorothy Helen Lacey (nee Telford), who died at Lakefield Extendicare on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in her 96th year. Raised on the Selwyn Township farm that her family had worked for generations, she lived to see a world transformed through depression, war, television, space flight, civil rights and a digital revolution. Beloved wife of the late Aleck Lacey. Beloved girlfriend of Manson Cathcart. Loving mother of Robert Lacey, Ken Lacey and his wife Rose (and late wife Janice), and Michael Lacey and his wife Kathy. Cherished grandmother of 7 (Megan, Ben, Mike, Nick, Jennifer, Marcus and Will), great grandmother of 7 (Alex, Ethan, Madeline, Wyatt, Taylor, Grayson and Jacob) and great great grandmother of 2 (Charleigh and Blayer). Predeceased by her parents William Telford and Ethel (nee Clarkson), and her brother Donald Telford and his wife Ruby. Along with being a wife and mother, she also had a long and enduring career at Extendicare Peterborough. Her presence was a mountain towering over the lives of all who knew her. Her strong and forceful personality instilled in her three sons a deep respect for powerful, independent women. Focused and stubborn. Tough yet soft. Humble but so very proud. While her death was expected, it doesn't make it easy.
