Duane Cowie Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Duane, in his 55th year on February 10, 2021. Duane is survived by his daughter, Tatum, who is the Love of His Life. Dear brother to Georgina Rogers and the late Terry, Derrick and Andrea Cowie, Darrin Cowie, Christa Lewis, Cynthia Gray and predeceased by Susan and Ron Peterson, Beverly Cowie, and Kirk Cowie. Uncle to Frankie Cowie, Aries Volpe, Richelle Weekes (Chris), Chad Cowie (Dan), Charles Cowie, Conner Cowie, Lindsay Peterson and Minden Peterson. Great-uncle to Jasmine and Jayde Seeley, Joshua Crowe, CJ and Linkoln Greenly Vokes, Carter and Bryden Brown, Tyson, Trent and Amilee Weekes. Duane, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. A Sacred Fire has been lit as Duane begins his spirit journey and will be burning until Sunday at high noon, at 595 Hiawatha Line. If anyone would like to pay their respects/offer Semaa (tobacco) they are welcome to do so. Please do remember we are in a pandemic and to please follow the rules of wearing a mask, hand washing/sanitizing and social distance rules when outside. I worked with Duane at various schools and he cared about the students that he worked with and showed kindness even when it was difficult. He will be missed. He had a sense of humor as big as his smile. Sorry for your loss.

Praying that Tatum remembers the happy days with her daddy. Duane’s face always glowed when talking about his little girl! I was able to work with Duane in many different schools over the years! Thank you Duane for the giggles.

I worked in the office at Adam Scott when Duane was there .....I'm so shocked and saddened to read of his passing. When he came into the office we would have our little chats....I'm so sorry for your loss. He will be missed. ❤
