passed away, Tuesday January 11, 2022, peacefully in the comfort of her home at Creekway Village - Burlington, at the age of 95. Betty was born in Cavan township, the daughter of William and Alice Turner. She was predeceased by her sister Verna, and brothers Charlie, George, Jack and Edward (Ted). She is fondly remembered by her sisters-in-laws, Joyce Moore and Margaret Turner, nieces, nephews and friends.
Loving mother to Wayne Moore (Linda) Burlington ON, Carol Kolga (Mati) Stella ON, and Denis Moore (Barb) Meaford ON and grandma to Shaun Moore (Jayme), Erik Kolga (Ashley), Alek Kolga (Claire), Chris Moore (Mark), Andrea Gordon (Sam) and Allan Gordon (Sherri) and "GG" to great grandchildren, Frankie, Blake; Kendall, Mason and Blake; Xavier and Aymeric; and Myles.
Betty was a veteran and served in the CWAC as a Canada wide recruiter and trainer. During the WW II she was stationed in Kingston ON and later in the Netherlands. She loved life and brought joy to her family and many friends. She extended herself willingly to her family, friends and community and was an outgoing and an engaging participant in community service (YMCA - Oakville) and the founder of the Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club of Oakville.
Betty will be laid to rest at Fraserville Cemetery in Peterborough at a private family service. The details of the "Celebration of Life" will be announced as soon as conditions are favourable.
