Gary WILSON Obituary

Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on March 17, 2022. Gary of Lakefield in his 82nd year. Gary was the manager of Walkwell Shoes in Chatham and Peterborough for over 30 years. Loved and missed by his wife Gail (née Fuller), his son Doug Wilson (Heather) and their children Erin and Justin. Survived by his sisters Linda Burke, Bonnie Bolton (Bob), brothers Brian, John, and Thom (Greg) Wilson, sister-in-law Linda Wilson and several nieces and nephews. Gary will be greatly missed by his dear friends, Reg and June Hartley and Harold and Janet Baal. Predeceased by his parents, Russell and Mildred Wilson and brothers, Grant Wilson and Robby (in infancy). A visitation will be held at the HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, Ontario on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and a funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow in the Heritage Room of the funeral home. Interment at Lakefield Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to VON Canada - Peterborough-Victoria-Haliburton Site as expressions of sympathy by contacting the Funeral Home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.

Sincere Condolences to the Wilson family.
I knew Gary as part of the Walkwel Team. My father James B. Clark was Mgr for over 40 years prior to Gary. Gary served his customers with respect & kindness & always with a smile.

I knew Gary as the manager of Vanessa Shoes in Peterborough where I worked for seven years during my high school and university days. He was an excellent supervisor and an all round good fellow. I have fond memories of that time, in a large part because of who Gary was and how he treated people. My condolences to his family and grand children.
