Peacefully passed away at home in Peterborough on March 11, 2022 in her 89th year. Jean was born July 20 1933 in Buchans, Newfoundland. Jean is survived by loving spouse Fred and they were married for 69 years. Jean and Fred moved to Scarborough ON, purchased their first home on Jarwick Drive and stayed there for 40 years and then to Peterborough ON for the last 20 years. Jean volunteered at many women's charities and loved her yoga, friends and was always so fashionable. A courageous fighter Jean dealt with a stroke that had her battling over the last eight years and with Fred's constant care had the best life she could have.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Florence Pinsent; brothers Guy, Bruce and Gerald; and sister Elaine (Cherie). She is survived by sisters Joyce (Angus) Elliott, Mildred (Keith) Johnson, Marilyn Pinsent and brother Lloyd Pinsent. Jean was adored and will be missed greatly by her four children, Kerry Sanger (Ralph Vandervoort), Karen (Tony) Holland, Jill (Paul) Edwards and Andrew (Lori Ceravolo) Sanger. Proud grandmother of Andrew (Janine Moir) Holland, Sarah (Mike Gardner) Vandervoort, Laura Vandervoort, Jeff (Kelsey) Farrar and Steve (Nancy) Farrar and Stevie Love (Sanger). Loved great-grandmother of Asher, Finley, Brixton, Tristan, Leo and Nora. Jean was a loved Auntie of many nieces and nephews and many close friends and family across Canada and the USA.
Jeans' family send gratitude with a warm thanks to all her care supporters. To Jean and Fred's friends Doug and Carol we are so thankful for your presence in their lives. Aquamation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will occur at a later date, after which Jean will be taken to New Harbour, Newfoundland to be with her parents, sister and brothers. The family in respect to Jean's wishes kindly requests no flowers.
