John Charles PIERCE

PIERCE, John Charles With heavy hearts, we announce that John Charles Pierce, age 72, left us October 9, 2019 in Peterborough with his family at his side. Loving husband of Jane Pierce for 52 years, John was the father of Roger (Tina) Pierce, Grandpa of Kaitlyn and Connor Pierce, brother of Catherine (Ken) Cramer, Lorraine (Ian) Pierce-Hull, and the late Douglas Pierce. Brother-in-law of Elizabeth Smith, Nancy (David) Minty, and the late Aubury (Frances) Nichols. Son of the late John and Babs Pierce and son-in-law of Ruth Nichols and the late Rod Nichols. He leaves behind many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A man of principle who was intelligent, kind and inquisitive, John graduated from Queen's University to embark on a career in Employment and Immigration Services with the Government of Canada. A career highlight was settling refugee families to the area, several of whom remain close friends. John enjoyed childhood summers at Kasshabog Lake, family adventures, winters in Florida, golfing, and making musical instruments to play in several bands. Celebration of Life held on October 26, 2019, 2 to 4 p.m., Kawartha Golf & Country Club, 777 Clonsilla Ave., Peterborough. Memorial donations may be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
