Passed away peacefully in his 90th year at Peterborough Hospice on Tuesday October 26, 2021. A 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member for over 50 years. Diecast operator of 33 years with Outboard Marine Corporation. Passionate about farming and golf, a love of euchre and enjoyed a lively discussion of current events and politics. Beloved husband of the late Lenore Collins (d.2017).
Loving father of Lynne Coletti (Sam) of Ottawa, Janet, Pat (Annette) of
London, Nancy of Ottawa and Michelle (Robert Ingraham) of Bermuda.
Devoted Papa of Paige Sawyer (Chris), Regan Beckett, Ethan, Madi, Tess
and Guin Carter. Fun loving "Papa Joe" to Rowan and Pippa Sawyer. Dear
brother to Rita Twohey (Jack, d.2016) of Lindsay. Dear brother-in-law of
Adele McNamara (Terry), Bob (Kathy), Paul (Ria), Helen McIvor (Barrie), Rita, Tom (June), Barb Philp (late Paul), Jean, Joan Smit (Rudy), Mike, Bill
(Bonnie), Pam Sinacori (John), Maureen Beatty (Don), and Steve (Shelley).
Predeceased by his parents, Ed and Kathleen (Sullivan) Maloney, brothers
Emmett and Carl and sister-in-law Eileen. Joe will be sadly missed by Shirley Moulton, Nancy Collins, Sharon and Gary O'Donnell, Cathy Murphy, Bob
Gainey, Linda Maloney and by his many nieces and nephews. Family and
friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510
Bensfort Road, on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, 386 Rogers Street, on Tuesday, November 2nd
at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of a
reception, there will be a Celebration of Life on the farm, date to be
determined at a later time. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Beamish and the dedicated caring staff at Peterborough Hospice. Their expertise, compassion and sensitivity were tremendously comforting in our time of need. In memory of Joe and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Peterborough Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
