Peacefully at PRHC on February 2, 2021 in his 64th year. Larry was the son of the late Howard Alton and Evelyn Jean May (Lavender). He is survived by his daughter Shannon Stewart (Jeremiah) of Redbank New Brunswick and his son Troy Kostal-May of Woodstock, Ontario. Grandfather to Gabriel Stewart and Lylah Stewart. Brother to Marilyn May and Sharon Little. Predeceased by sister Linda Rose (Frank) and brothers Wesley May (Ruby), Wayne May (Norma) and David May (Heather). Larry was a retired forty-year employee of International Painters and Allied Trades, Local 1819. He worked as a glazier metal mechanic. He coached little league baseball and tried never to miss a Blue Jays, Argo or Maple Leafs game. Hockey was very important to Larry, as was seen by his commitment to attend every single game his son played.
"Dad you left us too soon and will be forever missed. You will be remembered as a hardworking caring man who loved to help others." (Troy)
"To the man that never missed a birthday or anniversary, belly laughed at every funny John Candy and Robin Williams movie and introduced me to so many things I love. Not the least of which are the Three Stooges, Roller Coasters and Crokinole. Most of all, I will miss our Sunday chats about the weather, the kids, our little farm and the Toronto Maple Leafs. LOL. We love and miss you so much Dad." (Shannon)
Sharon and Marilyn will miss summer get-togethers and phone calls on birthdays to catch up on family gossip. Many thanks to Larry's Construction buddies who visited over the last few weeks while Larry was in the hospital and to the Palliative Care team, the doctors and nurses. A special thanks goes out to our neighbours who shoveled our snow for weeks. A small service will take place at Belleville Cemetery, 631 Dundas Street West (Old Hwy2) at 12 noon on Saturday, September 3, 2022. (Niche 15 North Level F-5 NW). After the service please join us for a Celebration of Life at Kenron Estates Community Centre, 3 Eastview Blvd., Belleville (613-394-3388). In lieu of flowers, donations to the
Canadian Cancer Society or to PRHC Palliative Care would be appreciated.
