Marilyn HUNTER Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Buddy Hunter on April 4, 2020 at home at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Fred Hunter (2012) for 59 years. Loving and devoted mother of David (Martha), Lori Wartman (Terry), John (Mille), Susan Waters (James) and Pamela O'Brien (Chuck). Proud grandmother of Kristin and Jason O'Brien, Natalie Hunter, and Colleen and Megan Waters. Buddy was born in Peterborough; eldest daughter of Max and Grace Pomeroy. She is survived by brother Bill (Pat) and predeceased by sisters Gwen and Pat. Buddy dedicated her life to her church, music and, mostly, to her family. She was organist and choir director at Keene and, later Mark Street, United Churches, and a much loved piano teacher for many years. The highlight and busiest time of her year was the Kiwanis Music Festival when her students would perform. Our family is especially grateful for Buddy's recent care at home provided by her CarePartners PSWs, RNs Emannuel, Angel and Mike, and Dr. Elizabeth Morrison A memorial service will be scheduled at Mark Street United Church at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please perform a random act of kindness in these challenging times. Donations may be made to Mark Street United Church or a charity of your choice by visiting, www.comstockkaye.com.

We're saddened to know that Buddy is gone. We were part of her church choir during her years as music director at Keene United Church. She was a friend as well as an expert leader/teacher. It was a joy and privilege to share that part of her life. We will continue to miss her, and offer condolences to her family..

It was with sadness I read of Buddy's passing. I had a lovely phone chat with her in November. She and Fred lived next to us on Armour Rd in the 50's when I was a kid. Such a wonderful, bubbly, talented person. Our daughter took piano lessons from her in the '80's. My dad and Max were old friends from Westclox. She will be missed.
Sending my sympathy to you....

Buddy helped foster my love of music from a young age and was a treasured part of my non-biological family. I have enormous gratitude for the impact she had and continues to have on my life. Im better for knowing her and will miss her so much. The music in Heaven just got a lot better xo Deepest sympathy to the whole family from Jessica (Root) Knoyle

My sympathy to all the Hunter family on the passing of Buddy. Our family lived across the road from the Hunters on Caddy Street; David a little tad following my brother around, and Lori in a pink snowsuit in her playpen in the driveway. Buddy was very kind and friendly and always patient with us, I remember being invited to tag along with her and the kids to fetch eggs from a farm, and after Johnny was born, though she was very busy, Buddy would never mind if I went in the house to have a look at the baby. We moved away in '59 but my late mother exchanged letters occasionally with Buddy, who proudly kept us informed of all the family's 'doings'.
My sincere sympathies to you all,
Pam Bates (Anthonisen)

Dear David and Family: Please accept our condolences at this very sad time. I remember Buddy when she was Marilyn Pomeroy and went to high school with my older sister. In later years, our paths crossed many times through music, both at Church Choir and at Bonacords and Jubilaires. I will always remember her beautiful
welcoming smile.

Sending loving thoughts and prayers your way,

Doris and Nick Nickson
