It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Johnston (née Rose) with her family by her side. Beloved Wife of Ross Johnston of Peterborough for 67 years. Devoted Mother of Nancy and Mark (pre-deceased) and Mother-in-law of David McMurray. Grandma of Meghan (Corey) and Ali (Brad), and Great Grandma of Hannah, Emily, Jack and Charlie. Pre-deceased by her parents Herb and Florence Rose and Brother George of Waupoos. Mary will also be missed by extended family and many friends. The family would like to extend their thanks for the kind and compassionate care Mary received at Coleman Care Center in Barrie. Family and friends will be received at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St., Peterborough on Monday, May 29th from 12:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Private family interment at Union Cemetery, Port Hope. In Mary's memory, donations to Five Counties Children's Center and the Alzheimer's Society, would be appreciated by the family.

Ross, Nancy and family, my sincere condolences on the loss of Mary. She was a gentlewoman who always had grace and kindness for others. I will always remember her gentle smile and twinkling eyes
