Melissa Lamore Obituary

It is with deep sadness the family of Melissa Anne Lamore (nee Keeler) announces her passing on January 13, 2022 peacefully at home in Peterborough surrounded by family at the age of 43 after a courageous 18 month battle with a rare form of brain cancer (GBM4). Loving and devoted wife to Alex Lamore for 9 years who is lost without her. Loving mother to her teenaged daughter Megan, and her grade schooler son Murphy. She is survived by her parents Rick and Jan Keeler, sister Rachael (John) Kostecki (Rossburn, MB), parent in-laws Linda & Ken Sanders, sister-in-law Jennifer Lamore (Vince Distefano), Brother in-law Andrew Lamore (Meghna Lamore). She loved her niece Angelina, and nephews James, Johnny, Allan & Biman. We are thankful for all the help, treatment and care she received from Cancer Centre Of Southeastern Ontario at Kingston General Hospital and her palliative team of nurses at home. Alex, Megan & Murphy extend a big thank-you to all the family, friends and new friends who created Team Mellie to support Melissa during her battle. Without you all, this would have been a much harder journey for our dear Mellie. Melissa will live on in our hearts, as when we are faced with any decision, adversity or challenge. Melissa was a long-time hair stylist at her own salon, Snips & Giggles, and previously at Glenda's Place Salon, both in Peterborough. If desired, donations would be appreciated by the family to the Slay Society Inc. (supporting those going through brain cancer), Brain Cancer Canada, Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, or the charity of your choice. Due to current covid restrictions, a celebration of life will be held in March 2022
