Pat COONEY Obituary

Pat passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Nursing Home in her 85th year. She is predeceased by her parents Mae and Tic Caccavella and her loving husband Edward (Ted) Cooney. Devoted mother of Ted Cooney Jr, Cathy Metcalfe, Carolyn Dolomont (Rick Neale) and Janice Brown (Joseph). She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Sharon Cooney. Grandmother to Kendra Cooney (Ernie, deceased), Krista Watson [Darren), Scott Metcalfe, Jennifer Sabovitch (Scott), Chase Dolomont, Nick Dolomont, Cody Brown. Great grandmother to Rebecca Seabrook (Sean), Steven Seabrook (Shannon), Amanda Watson, Hailey Sabovitch. Great-Great grandmother to Raylynn Seabrook. Pat will be sadly missed, but we're grateful for the memories she left in our hearts. Pat travelled lots in her younger years before she settled down to become a Nurse at Civic hospital where she got involved with the union and retired. Pat could often be found (and heard) at swimming pools, hockey rinks and dance recitals. She introduced many of her grandchildren to the World of Disney. Pat loved hosting parties for friends and family; she had the cheese shop on speed dial. She was an avid Toronto Blues Jays fan and loudly cheered them on at their training camps in Florida, in Toronto, or sitting at home watching them on TV. She will be remembered by her generous spirit, kindness, and endless sandwich trays. We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Fairhaven Nursing Home (Special Care unit) for taking such great care of our mum and nan, as well as Unit 2 at Riverside for making her final days comfortable and peaceful. We would also like to thank Comfort Keepers for your weekly visits which added an additional level of care and kindness. Pat will be interred alongside her adored husband and reunited for their 49th anniversary with a private graveside service at Little Lake Cemetery in Peterborough, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer's Society or The Parkinson's Foundation in memory of Patricia.

I remember when Pat and Ted first got together. Ted was a neighbor of ours and introduced us to Pat. We loved her from the start and it was obvious that she made Ted very happy. My deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. She will always be in your memories as well as mine.
