Peter MILLARD Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Friday August 20, 2021. Peter, son of the late Leonard and Minnie Millard (nee Hodson), was a Lawyer in Peterborough, for over 40 years. Peter was active in his community and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Canadian Legion. Loving partner of Lynn Woodcroft. Dear father of Jennie Millard (Matt Allen), Ryan Millard (Catherine Ryan) and grandfather of Simon Allen. Fondly remembered by Mark Woodcroft (Lily) and Jimmy Woodcroft (Taylor). Peter is survived by his sister Pauline Kissel (Maurice). Kind and gentle, Peter will be remembered for his love of animals, music, an evening paddle and a game of golf. Cremation has taken place, arrangements entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. A celebration of Peter's Life will be held at a later date at the Buckhorn Community Centre. Donations to the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) may be made in Peter's memory by contacting LAWS at www.lakefieldanimalwelfare.org or by calling 705-652-0588. My sincere sympathy to Peter’s family and friends. Peter was my trusted lawyer and fellow animal lover, especially trading stories about our Goldens. Recently I discovered that a former nursing colleague of mine Pauline, is Peter’s sister. He was such a fine gentleman!

Sorry to hear that Peter has passed. Lots of memories flood back from Racquet Club and YMCA days. Peter had a terrific personality and was always ready to join in the laughter wherever he went. I know the past few years have not been good for him, but he accepted his medical issues with his usual never-mind attitude. Truly, Peter will be missed. One of the good guys in the world. Well done Pete on your trip through life.
