My heart goes out to your wonderful family. I grew up on Highland Road and my memories of Mrs. Shaughnessy include her kindness, beautiful smile and how great she was with all of us kids. She was a bright light in this world! Louise was a special friend to me when I was young. With love and prayers, Karen (MacKay) Thompson (sister of Craig and Jane)

I was very sad to hear of Rita's passing. She was a friend of the Russelle family for years. I delivered her mail for many years and we got to know each other much better through our many talks over the years. Condolences to all who loved her .

To all the Shaughnessy´s....I´m so sorry for your incredible loss. Mrs. Shaughnessy was an incredible woman. Her Irish eyes were always smiling and her general concern for everyone was inspirational. I have so many memories ... she even came to see the first house Patti and I ever rented. Ha. Sending love

Some people's warmth, joy and genuine kindness remain with you even though you haven't seen them in many years. Louise, your mother was one of those people.May the love she brought to your family and so many others make this loss more bearable. She is now reunited with many she loved gone before her - her time on earth well lived and her place in heaven well earned- Doug Hayes

I had the joy and privilege of getting to know Rita Shaughnessy on her many visits to Ottawa where she spent happy times with Pat, Mary Ellen and their family. Her appreciation of life's Blessings and her spirit of adventure were inspirational. Rita will be sadly missed by her family and friends, and yet, her legacy lives on in the generations that follow..... a life well-lived.

I have such fine toddler memories thinking about my late Mother Elinor and Mrs. Shaughnessy. They had the greatest discussions as Mom checked out at the Dominion Store in the Brookdale Plaza where Mrs. Shaughnessy was a cashier. Mother would always go to her line regardless of how many people were ahead of her. I'd go with Mom as often as I was allowed just to listen to the two of them. My late brother Mark went all through St. Anne's with Tim as I did with Matt. Great memories about a fine family. What a wonderful person she was. Mrs. Shaughnessy was just visiting, she's back home now. My sincere condolences.

Rita was a very good friend of my Uncle Mike Guerin and his wife Jean. Wow what an amazing lady, so positive, so friendly and giving. Rita I loved meeting you at the Legion on Remembrance Day. You were so supportive of our soldiers especially as they got older. Just a wonderful lady who will be very much missed. You can be in Heaven now with your beloved family members who've gone before you. RIP Rita, God love you

Our sincere condolences go out to the entire Shaughnesssy family.
Mrs. Shaughnessy was a special person and I am sure many people benefited from her positive outlook and upbeat personality.I have fond memories of the Shaughnessy family and the home on Highland rd. from Mrs. Shaughnessy teaching Tim and I how to throw softball windmill windup and telling us stories of her playing in the east city women's league.
Also another standout was her learning to drive a standard transmission on the 57 chev they bought from her brother Red.
Never a dull moment in the Shaughnessy household and she always had a good laugh about things whenever we got together out west.
