Robert Curtis Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Gordon Curtis announce his passing at home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Friday, September 30, 2022 in his 89th year. He is now at peace and reunited with the love of his life the late Mary Elizabeth (nee McDougall) (March 10, 2004).
Robert is predeceased by his parents William and Clara (Morgan). Loving father of Lori, Robert Jr., Martin (Karen), Russell (Carol), Christopher (Amanda), Jason (Carol), Alana (predeceased Dave) Adams, Brent (Tammy) and Tyler (Derek).
Dear grandfather of Justin Sr, Nicole, Nicholas, Ashley, Madeline, Gregory, Tara, Shannon, Taunya, Robert, Riley, Payton, Michael, Shawn, Amanda, Alicia, Christina, Samuel, Hannah, and Avery.
Robert's 14 great-grandchildren (with one on the way) always brought a sparkle to his eye and joy in his heart.
Brother of (predeceased) Bill, Jim, Beatrice (Newhouse), Edwin, Albert, Helen and Garry.
Survived by sisters-in-law Bernice, Ada, Anne, Eileen, and Betty.
Loving brother-in-law to Harold (predeceased) (Marion) McDougall, Patricia (Bernard) Clancy and Anne (Robert) Webdale.
Special friend to Phyllis Ferguson and Lorna Crilly (predeceased).
Robert's abilities in the sport of lacrosse were recognized by his induction into the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame, Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He will always be remembered for his many years of volunteer service to Peterborough minor sports.
The Curtis Family would like to express our appreciation to the Palliative Care Team whom enabled us to keep with dad's wishes of passing in his home of 62 years.
Visitation at DUFFUS FUNERAL HOME, 431 George Street South from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Funeral Mass at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in Immaculate Conception Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Robert, donations to Five Counties Children's Centre or Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family.

It is with sadness in my heart that I have just heard of Bob's passing. When I rode bike I used to call on him from time to time and we would remember better days and times. I called in about (4 weeks ago?) on the spur of the moment and we enjoyed some good conversation. I should have realized then how soon this day would come.
Fondly remembered by cousin Reg and Doreen.

bob curtis was mister everything great husband,father. grandfather and neighbor, volunteer a mam of faith, great athlete, a hall of fame , but most of all my friend for sixty years our familys grew up together over that period, he was just a special guy you could go to about anything we will miss him a great deal god bless and rsp old buddy

Brent and family. Very sorry to learn of your fathers´ passing. Dianne recalls working with him at Westclox, and he was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame the same time time as her son Craig.

My Condolences to the Curtis family at this time. I remember watching Bob play net for the Jeff Purvey Pete´s with my Father, Roger Wilson. I know how much fun that bunch of guy´s had over the year´s. They knew how to have a good time! R.I.P.

An absolute Gentleman who will be missed. He was always so amazing with Lorna and he will be dearly missed. Bob was one of the guys who helped shape the community I grew up in and I am thankful for him and his family. My deepest condolences to his family.
