Sharon TAYLOR Obituary

(nee Colman) Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully with her sons present on March 4, 2021 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 79 years. This vibrant, creative and talented grandmother loved to help and teach others. She will be sadly missed by her sons Jason (Alba) and Cameron (Jess Russell) and grandchildren Jacob and Esmé. Dear sister of Don Colman (Cheryl) and Peter Colman. Predeceased by her parents Doris and Lefty Colman. Much loved by her extended family of Colmans and Taylors. Sharon was a prolific artist who trained at art college in London, Ontario and later in life at the Ontario College of Art and Design. She started her career in the marketing departments at Eatons and Simpsons - working in both Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON. Sharon loved to inspire creativity and expression in others, and shared her art to heal and nurture the spirit of those around her. Creating and teaching art was not only Sharon's passion, but her life's purpose. Sharon was a Board member, instructor and active community member of the Art School of Peterborough where she dedicated her time teaching watercolour classes, fundraising, program planning, hanging exhibits, teaching children and encouraging others to express themselves through art. Sharon was also an energetic member, volunteer and contributor to the Kawartha Artist Gallery and Studio. Sharon loved a good book, a glass of red wine, and spending time with family and friends, especially her sons Jason and Cameron and grandchildren Jake and Esmé. She'd say her garden brought her happiness, but she'd also say it was a pain! Her creative, curious spirit and larger than life laugh filled so many hearts. Sharon never stopped making those around her feel good. She will be missed dearly. A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held at a later time. Such a tragic loss. Met Sharon on a trip to the Galapagos. So grateful to study "watercolour" under Sharon's tutelage at The Art School and with the Monday afternoon painting group. So long sweet lady, let flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
