Walter GALLOWAY

It is with profound sadness that the family of Walter Robert (Bob) Galloway announces his passing on March 29, 2022, at 86 years. Bob was an energetic man who engaged with the world with charisma, charm, loyalty, and generosity to spare. He was a man who took you at your word and in so doing, inspired those around him to be their best versions of themselves. In partnership with (the late) Ian Greer, Bob Galloway established The Greer Galloway Group Inc. in Peterborough in 1965. The firm has maintained offices in Pembroke, Belleville, Kingston, Oshawa, Markham, Bracebridge, and Bancroft. As a Professional Engineer, Bob was admired for sharing his wealth of experience, his work ethic, and his unerring business sense for problem solving. For 57 years, The Greer Galloway Group has been and continues to be a respected employer and a premiere engineering firm. In his last days, Bob reflected that The Greer Galloway Group has built a very good team of business partners and employees that he was proud to be surrounded by. A favourite family remembrance is of Bob coming home from work, always well dressed in a 3-piece suit complete with pocket square and tie, his polished cowboy boots echoing on the slate floor, whistling "Call to the Post". Home comforts included his tremendously large dogs and his love for them, his elegant and fully stocked bar, his extravagant vehicles, and his evening recounting of the day's events with his wife and family. He is survived by his loving wife Wilma of 61 years, four children and seven grandchildren. We are sorrowful without him in our world. Rest in peace, dear husband, father, and grandfather.
