William Jackson Obituary

After emergency surgery on Sunday, November 4, 2022, Bill passed away suddenly but peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the age of 75.
Loving husband of Susan (nee Cramp), in their 50th year of a beautiful marriage. Cherished father of Karen (Julian) Northey and Laura (Michael) Lamb; proud grandfather of Alexandria, Valarie, Heather and Esther Northey as well as Victor, Zachery and Travis Lamb. Bill was the big brother of Margaret (Boyd) Stewart and a treasured member of the Jackson and Cramp extended families.
Bill was a dedicated and greatly respected Electrical Engineer in large motor design at G.E. Canada for 33 years as well as spending 4 years with Manitoba Hydro in Gillam, Manitoba. His hardworking and methodical nature spilled into many building projects at home, his cottage and in helping those he loved. Bill was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on his daughters and grandchildren in whatever sport they participated in. A global traveler and growing up in the RCAF, Bill enjoyed many adventures; including the ones with Sue in his retirement. He will be remembered as a gentle giant, who faithfully and quietly supported many in the community.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at Peterborough Free Methodist Church, 450 Lansdowne St. E. on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 12 p.m. with visitation for one hour prior.
In memory of Bill, please consider a donation to the Peterborough Free Methodist Church or the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem.

Fond memories of a good neighbour at many neighbourhood annual picnics. Also Bill would sometimes be at Free Methodist Church when our bands were practicing and it was nice to see him there.

So sad to hear that Bill has passed. I first met Bill at GE in 1981 when I was a Bechtel Quality inspector and then became his colleague in 1990 when I joined GE Canada Sales. Bill was one of my favourites, intelligent, diligent, kind and caring. He had a wonderful calm nature and a great sense of humour to go with his welcoming smile. God bless you Bill and all your family and friends
