Andrija LAKATOS Obituary
Passed away to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in his 90th year at Sunnyside Home. Loving husband to the late Javorka (2009).
Dearest father of Emile (Brenda). He will be missed by his grandsons Kyle (Shane) Lakatos, Taylor (Ashley) Lakatos and honourary granddaughter Krystle. Proud great-grandpa to Dominik, Faith, David, Jeremiah, Adilyn, and Tobias.
Predeceased by his parents Istvan and Justika of Europe, brother to Anoushka (the late Paul) Marton of Australia, Katica (Mihalj) Jaksa of Australia, Juliana (the late Karlo) Vizmeg of Europe, Adam and Barbara Lakatos of Australia, Alex (the late Veronka) Lakatos of Australia, and the late Paul, Joseph and Ference all of Europe.
A special shoutout to Andrija's nieces and nephews in Canada; Mary and Geza Talos, Kathy and Ranko Vladetic, Laci and Helen Lakatos, Sandor Lakatos and, Sinisa and Lily Mastelica and many extended family members throughout Canada, USA, Europe and Australia.
Andrija was a retired minister and member with the PAOC (Pentecostal Assembly of Canada) where he was happy to serve the Lord within the Slavic and Pentecostal community of Kitchener-Waterloo.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Sunnyside Home, especially Azar and her compassionate team in the Greenfield Section.
Friends and family may visit Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener on Sunday, May 28th from 5 - 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Monday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Williamsburg Cemetery. Service will be viewable via livestream at https://fweb.tv/102310.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Sunnyside Home LTC.
