Aubrey Millard Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Aubrey Millard Jr. announces his passing on Sunday September 18, 2022, at his home in Port Colborne, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 57. Beloved father of Tiffany Check (Derek Fedorchuk). Grandfather of Nicholas, Zachary, and Peyton. Cherished son of Aubrey (Judy) Millard Sr. and the late Marian (Farkas) Deck. Aubrey will be fondly remembered by his siblings Kathy (David) Hunter, Gilles (Rosemary) Millard and Alvin (Sandra) Armstrong. After high school, Aubrey served a tour in Baden, West Germany with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. On his return to Canada, he completed his apprenticeship as an auto mechanic, operating his own garage in Kitchener for several years. His interest and skills with computers led him to head up the IT department of the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. He was a martial arts instructor teaching children and adults in his dojo in Kitchener for several years. His passion was wood working in his shop behind his house in Port Colborne, and he enjoyed displaying his wares at the farmers and craft market on Friday mornings in Port Colborne this past summer. Aubrey's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday, September 23, 2022, for viewing from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. after which there will be a service in the Armstrong Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow the service and a burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Niagara Animal Rescue.

You taught my son so much more than martial arts - you made him a better person. You made a difference in so many lives! Rest in peace, Sensei.

Dear Sensei Aubrey,

I remember having a conversation with Nana Landry when Liam was young and she said "you need to put Liam in martial arts .... It will teach him discipline and if needed he will be able to defend himself!" She was right..... and I am glad that I chose your dojo .

We are all shocked and saddened to hear of your passing and I wanted to let you know that you were a huge part and positive influence in Liam Sugden and many others lives and I just wanted to say "thank you"

Rest in peace
