Barry SCOTT Obituary
April 2, 1947 - May 3, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Charles Scott on Wednesday May 3, 2023 at the age of 76. He will be deeply missed by his wife Lisa and daughter Alanna (Luke). Fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Janet and father-in-law Felix Collins and brothers-in-law Paul and Johnathan. He was deeply loved by his four-legged "kids" Yogi and Jeter.
Predeceased by his parents, Robert Charles Scott and Jean Alberta Scott and brothers, Murray, Terry and Wayne of Wingham, Ontario.
Barry was a dedicated employee in the Office of Research at the University of Waterloo for over four decades. A giving person by nature, Barry supported the community by serving as a board member on the University of Waterloo Board of Governors, Waterloo Economic Development Committee, and the Board Advisory of Legal Aid, among others. He was a life-long fan of the New York Yankees, which is reflected in the names of his cats! Barry also loved to travel, having visited many countries around the globe. Lisa turned him on to cruising and it quickly became a favorite mode of vacationing.
Lisa and Alanna would like to express their deepest gratitude to Barry's dear friend Marilyn Allen for all of her love and kindness and to the staff of Sunnyside Seniors Residence for their gentle compassion and care during Barry's short time with them.
A Celebration of Barry's Life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel.

I knew Barry from work. When I first started I would often meet with him for advice on IP agreements and he was always so kind and helpful. My sympathies to his family and friends.
