Beverly Eastick Obituary

Passed away on February 7, 2022, at the Quinte Health Centre in Belleville, Ontario. Her sons Doug and Rob were by her side. Bev was born in Sudbury, Ontario, on March 30, 1940, to Robert and Ann McLeod (nee Olenych). She is survived by her sons Robert (Bernie) Eastick, Douglas (Lorie) Eastick and grandchildren Shannon, Jeff (Lindsay), Erin, Brenna, and Chris. She was twin sister and forever best friend of Barbara Deacon of Belleville, Ontario. Bev was born in Sudbury and spent early years in Creighton, Ontario. Bev and Barb were affectionately known as 'the McLeod twins' by all who knew them as they were growing up in the 40s and 50s. They were graduates of Sudbury High. Bev went on to become a teacher, teaching in several schools in the Sudbury area. These years were special to Bev, including the many close friendships she made and developed over the years. In later career years, Bev worked at KPMG in Sudbury. When the boys were young Bev enjoyed many times on Manitoulin Island with her family and close family friends. Idyll Glenn Park on Lake Mindemoya holds very fond memories for all, as well as the camp later built on Big Lake. Bev loved spending time with Rob and Doug's families, affectionately termed "The Easticks East" and "The Easticks West"; it was most special to her when she could spend time with them all as one. Bev will always be remembered as special aunt to Cathy (Neil) Barrett, their three children, and Fred (Elizabeth) Deacon. In Bev's retirement years she was fortunate to spend many days enjoying the sunshine. Winters were spent in South Carolina or Florida, and summers in Kitchener. She loved to kayak, teach Reiki classes, enjoy exercise classes while building many good friendships along the way. Bev holds a very special place in the heart of Greg McNeice and family; she was a special friend and Nan, sharing many memories over the past 25 years. We will all miss Bev and lovingly remember her joyful demeanor, being a very proud mother, Nan, and Aunt, and always finding the bright side of anything. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588). Should you wish to make a donation in her honor, please consider the Belleville General Hospital Foundation (bghf.ca) or Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury (MaisonSudburyHospice.org).
