Bob POPE Obituary

In his 98th year, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on December 22, 2020. He is now reunited with his beloved Isobel who predeceased him in 2011. He will be missed by his children Paul Pope (Marg), Lee Howard (John), and Rae Pope (Doug) Much loved Gramps to Jennifer Kellett (Sean) David Pope (Annalise) Ainslee Howard (Stu) Erica Shortt (Chris) Jesse Orth (Katie) Nolan Orth (Jenna). Great-Gramps to Daley, Myriam, Mae, Brynn, Callum, Ben, Annika, Holly, Wesley, Anya and one on the way. Bob was a WW II veteran (Air Force). Upon returning from overseas in 1945 he began his career with Immigration Canada and married Isobel. They built their forever home on Hodgson Ave. in Niagara Falls. Bob was a man of many talents. Cheerleader, drummer in orchestral band, pianist, and barbershop singer. He excelled at cribbage and delighted in extending his knowledge and love of the game to all the grandkids. In 2015 he moved to the Westhill in Waterloo where he enjoyed five wonderful years of activities and friendships. Our sincere thanks to the staff and residents at the Westhill for their never-ending kindness and support. Thanks also to St. Mary's hospital floor 700 for their comfort and care. Sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was the entertainer, in barbershop shows over the years he did the old soft shoe. He will be a great asset to the eternal chorus. My condolences to the family.

It was a pleasure to work and socialize with this true gentleman. From our days as work colleagues and poker night buddies, he was always fun to be around and he always saw the brighter side of any situation.
