Mr. Brubacher was a very dedicated teacher who appeared to live his job. I squeaked by grade 12 Physics with a 50, no fault of Mr. B´s, just a poor science student! He WILL be missed, my condolences.

We are sorry to read of Mr. Brubaker´s death. He taught me math and science as best he could. I appreciated his calm manner and his helpfulness. This was in the years 1960 to 1965.
My husband Paul ( of the Funeral Home) also remembers him. I went on to be an elementary teacher in Waterloo.
Our sympathy to you, Margaret and your family on the loss of a well respected, kind man.
Sincerely, Paul and Sharon Good

What an impact David had on so many of us! In 1976, I was a lonely teenager home alone from Africa, trying to fit into a foreign world back in Waterloo. Dave´s home room door was ten feet from my locker at WCI, and he became a friend, patient teacher, and a model of a Christian man. Thank you, David, for a cherished 46 year friendship - we will see each other at Home!

We are very sorry to learn of Mr. Brubaker´s death. My husband´s father was Albert Hunsberger. Both A1and his wife Greta were very fond of both of you and they knew he was an excellent physics and math teacher at WCI.
I was a very poor physics and math student and I imagine he despaired of ever teaching me in Grade 11!But he was always kind and supportive and I appreciated that about him.I went on to become an elementary teacher though I stayed in the elementary panel where the math and science were not beyond me! And of course I married, George, A1´s eldest son. I remember meeting both of you at his parents´home.George also remembers your son Jonathan from Bluevale CI basketball.
Please accept our sincere sympathy for your loss.
Sincerely, George and Steph Hunsberger

Saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Brubaker. He taught me math for several years at WCI. Also enjoyed his many readings of Dr. Seuss stories to his classes. He was a very nice teacher. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Class of 1984.

Fond memories of worshipping together at Lincoln Heights Missionary Church.
Marilyn remembers David as always being involved in the preschool program of Lincoln Heights Missionary Church's VBS.
Until we see each other again in the presence of our King. We are praying for His strength, peace and love to be with each of you as you grieve David.

Mrs. Brubaker and family, Mr. Brubaker stands first among all my high-school teachers. He maintained a tight lead on his classes, but was respected and appreciated even so. He was exemplary for us teens about to enter university. And even after our high-school years he made time to speak with us when we crossed paths. Just a few years ago we happened across each other, and I teasingly called out (knowing that due to his vision limitations that he could not visually determine who was speaking to him) "Mr. Brubaker, I think one of my calculus test answers should be reconsidered" to which he knowingly replied as he did in high school days "if you really want me to reassess your answer to that one question, I will have to reassess your answers to all the questions", and (by then having recognized my voice) he and I laughed together! Mr. Brubaker was such a blessing to so many people over his years of teaching and afterwards! May you too be blessed by your memories of him. We pray that you experience the closeness of the God of all comfort now and going forward.

I was just thinking about Mr Brubacher, as I was substitute teaching geometry at our local high school. I was pondering what Dr Seuss story to read to the class. He was a good teacher and an inspiration to many students. Condolences to the whole family.

Mr. Brubaker was a great teacher, & a nice fellow during my time at WCI in the 80s. The man batted 1000 consistency: every day a steady, friendly calming presence in that Fred Rogers tradition.

I remember Mr. Brubaker fondly from WCI. He taught me math twice: Algebra and Calculus. He was a kind, compassionate teacher who read Dr Seuss and asked us how to say Merry Christmas in the languages from around the world. We respected him and he never raised his voice or eyebrow once... he never had to. He was truly someone to look up to. Rest In Peace.
