Carl Joseph GINGERICH

GINGERICH, Carl Joseph Age 86, of Shakespeare, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Stratford General Hospital. Born in East Zorra Township, son of the late Henry and Katie (Ruby) Gingerich. Survived by his wife of 57 years; Betty (Wicke) Gingerich. Proud father of Shelley (Murray Schlotzhauer), Jeff (Brigitte) and Joel (Jackie). Much loved grandpa to Paul, Danette, Loral, Kobe, Carter, Hanna and great-grandpa to Jax and Kaylee. Carl was a 43 year employee at T.B. Woods before his retirement. He is a charter member of the Shakespeare Optimist Club, a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and he was very active in his community, serving on Municipal and County Council for many years as well as board member of Spruce Lodge, Hamlet Estates and Woodland Towers. Carl was also Township Clerk for South Easthope Township from 1968-1988. Carl will be remembered by his siblings, Ray (Joyce) Gingerich and Kathryn Ann (Chuck) Herold, his brother-in-law George (Elaine) Wicke and sisters-in-law Jacky Wicke and Joan Gingerich along with his many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his brothers Robert Gingerich and Frank (Beth) Gingerich and his brother-in-law Roy Wicke. Friends and family may be received at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 115 Cambria Street, Stratford on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Reception will take place following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
