Dan Houston Obituary

Daniel John Houston, 70, of Kitchener-Waterloo sadly left us on February 21, 2023 following sudden heart failure. Dan is predeceased by his father Jack Wesley Houston, survived by his mother Doreen Houston, sister Donna Wile, brother David Houston, sister-in-law Karin Houston, daughter Danielle Cudney, son Michael Houston, daughter-in-law Gina Houston, niece Christina Kemp, niece Jessie Percival, nephew-in-law Christopher Percival, nephew Wesley Houston, niece-in-law Tracy Mu and his two adoring grandsons Damien Daniel Cudney and Kayden Joseph Cudney.
Dan will be most remembered for his contribution and hard work as Senior System Program Analyst at Schneiders and Maple Leaf. He enjoyed his retirement watching hilarious sitcoms and every sport throughout the year, especially the NFL. Dan adored spending time, drawing, painting, playing games and teaching his grandchildren; who miss him dearly. On top of spoiling his grandchildren, Dan delighted in spoiling everyone else in his life. He will always be remembered for his quiet reserve, quick wit, frugal demeanor and incredibly generous spirit. He was an amazing, selfless and wonderful man, loving father and adoring grandfather. He will truly be missed.
A private funeral service will be held in Dan Houston's honor with close family at his request.

I worked side-by-side with Dan for many years at JMS and Link Services. We accomplished a lot but more importantly, we had fun at the same time - whether it was in our offices, at our favourite after-work watering hole, or on one of our many business trips to western Canada. Dan was a talented IT professional and I was fortunate to work with him. He was a true friend and I will cherish my memories of our friendship forever. Rest in peace, "Danno".
