David Michael DANCE

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at Lisaard House, Cambridge, on Tuesday March 22, 2022, at the age of 63. He was a lifelong resident of Ayr.
Beloved son of Glenn and Anna Dance (nee Hamilton); loving husband to Sandra (nee Wildfong); much loved dad to Jacquie Moyer (Aaron), Danielle Dance (Jeff), Mike (Joelle), and Stefan (Tessa); cherished grandpa to Hunter and Hailey, Carter, and Nolan and Alyssa. Dearly missed by his brothers Ken (Janet) and Ed (Genny). He is also survived and missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of long-time friends.
Family was important to Dave. He dearly loved each of his children and grandchildren. Regardless of the generation he enjoyed playing with them, watching them grow and teaching them about his love of sports, hunting and fishing.
Many hours were spent in the great outdoors. It didn't matter what time of year, you could find him in a bush, in a field or on a lake with his two sons, grandchildren or hunting group.
Dave played minor hockey in Ayr and was one of the original men's league players. He was a trainer/coach in minor hockey and was still playing at least twice a week up until COVID.
A well-liked employee of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, where he spent his entire working career. Not one to sit on the side lines, he was also a three-term councillor for the Township of North Dumfries.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St, Ayr on Sunday March 27, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Guests are asked to please register via RSVP on the funeral home website at www.wmkippfuneralhome.com. Masks are not mandatory but feel free to wear at your own personal level of comfort. A family memorial service will take place at a later date.
