David McClintock Obituary

Passed away on April 17, 2020 in Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 62. Dave lived with his partner and love Laura Harkness at their home in Waterloo, Ontario. Father to Jessica and Sarah McClintock. Son of William and Helen McClintock. Brother to Lisa, Paul, and Barry McClintock. Stepfather to Jacalyn, Daniel and Alisha Harkness. Dave was a welcoming and loving person who brought out the best in those around him. He was a natural born athlete who enjoyed and excelled in sports including hockey, baseball and golf. He had a passion for cooking and barbecuing delicious food that regularly brought his family and friends together. When possible, a celebration of life and final Mass will be planned. Dear McClintock Family, I send along my sincere condolences. I have many fond memories of Dave as our captain/leader of the Miami University Hockey Team. Coming in as a freshman, Dave was our senior leader that made us all feel part of the Miami hockey family. May you find peace during this difficult time. God Bless.

Laura and family I am so sorry for your loss. Dave and I played hockey together at Miami. Not only was he a great defenseman but a great leader on and off the ice.

He had a way of taking popular songs and putting his own words to them. Tremendous energy and sense of humor.

Dave will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to all who miss Dave.

I worked with Dave when he was with Spectrum United.

Dave was a great guy. Always had a smile on his face.

A real fun, engaging guy.

Very tragic to lose him at such a young age.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Dave & I worked together at Royal Trust in the 1990's. We spent many good times together with co-workers and friends. If Dave was present, a good time was had by all! I moved to California 20 years ago but thought of my friend, fondly and often. Over the past 3 years I've had reason to visit the Kitchener area several times. Each and every visit, I would try to find Dave, either by facebook or through mutual friends. I always wondered if he thought that I had forgotten him. Dave is the kind of friend everyone deserves to know, at least once in a lifetime. I will always hold our memories close to my heart. I will forever miss you, my friend. Some day soon, we will meet up again with some old friends and we'll reminisce :)

My deepest sympathy to your family.

I was saddened to hear of the loss of David. While I haven't seen Dave in a few years I have known him since the mid-80s. In all those years I knew him to be caring, hard-working, and tenacious. He never gave up when he believed in something. What I remember the most about Dave is his talent for story-telling and his wonderful sense of humour. Dave's presence was always known when you were in a room with him, mostly because you could hear his infectious laughter. Once you met Dave you never forgot him.

My sincerest condolences to the McClintock family.
