Dennis Wayne Dakin

1949 - 2021

November 15, 1949 - January 24, 2021 Passed away peacefully at the Freeport Palliative Care Unit after a courageous battle with Cancer. Dennis was predeceased by his father Benjamin Dakin (2008) and his mother Doreen (nee Maltby) Dakin (2016). He is survived by his brothers, Ben (Monica) and Dave (Donna), and his many nieces and nephews. Dennis was a quiet and caring man, who was very proud of his 46 years spent working for Zehrs and his 30 years as a minor softball volunteer. The Dakin family would like to thank the entire staff of the Freeport Palliative Care Unit for their loving care of Dennis over the past few months. Due to restrictions, a private service will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Relatives and friends may join his service through henrywalser.com/live-streaming on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place and his interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
