LOFTO, Donald Allen It is with deep sorrow the family of Don announces his passing at home with family by his side, on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Jane for 52 years. Loving dad of Patrick (Lee-Ann), Conrad (Lori), and Jon (Nicole). Proud grandpa to Megan, Aidan, Trenton, Beckett, Elouise and Jack. Predeceased by his brothers Eugene, George and Dennis and survived by his sisters-in-law Joan and Frances. Don will be fondly remembered by all his family and friends. Don graduated in 1966 from the University of Manitoba in Mechanical Engineering (P. Eng). He was a pilot for the RCAF from 1963-1974, as well as Wardair, Canadian Airlines, Korean Air and Air Canada where he retired from in 2004. Don continued as a flight Instructor with Air Canada until 2011 and then he took up cooking and became Jane's private chef. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors who took care of Don during his time at Grand River Hospital, and Cancer Centre. A Celebration of Life in honour of Don will be held on Saturday, September 14 from 13:00 to 16:30 at the Mill Club Clubhouse, 350 Doon Valley Drive, Kitchener ON. Ties and jackets not required. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
