Like so many others, I loved Ellen. We both worked with Women Together: planned together, prayed together, travelled together, laughed & cried together. Every single time we were praying together in a group, she encouraged my heart with her specific personalized prayer for me & my situation! She loved the Word of God so much, and loved sharing its treasures. And I know she loved her grand-children and all her family dearly. As the saying goes, "Heaven's sounding dearer all the time!"

I only met Ellen once back in the fall, at her home, for a delightful day of
Prayer Retreat and sharing. I knew immediately she had a warmth about her that was planted deep within her soul. I never knew that our first meet would be our last meet this side of heaven. Soon after was her diagnosis. Thank you cousin Marilyn McIroy for gifting me with a day at Ellen's, her unselfish giving with Living Grace Ministries. Your work on earth is complete Ellen. May God be with your family as they face the challenges of life without your presence. Beth Foster.

Sadly our paths never crossed, though we may have friends and acquaintances in common through my membership connections with Kitchener/ and Waterloo MB churches and also Foundation Christian School, where I still occasionally teach. I learned of Ellen about a decade ago through FB (where I am also known as Ellen Krahn, my maiden name) and was so heartened to know that she, too, was a Christian!!! (the 3 other FB Ellen Krahns to my knowledge are not) and she actually also lived here in Waterloo Region!! Occasionally, through the years, I'd google her to see what work she was up to and it always a very special encouragement to me to think that someone with my name (Ellen and Krahn were hardly common names back in the day, even amongst the Mennonites I grew up with!) was here in the area working for the Lord in her own life's path, even as I was. So though we never met, her impact reached beyond what she might have imagined, to a perfect stranger like me and may that also be an encouragement to you. Through the WMB prayer chain, I learned of her recent health issues and so have been praying for her and all her loved ones in this, which turned out to be the last of her earthly journey. I'm very sorry for your deep loss and pray God's comfort and peace will remain with you all in the sad times ahead. My sincerest condelonces to you all. Ellen
