Florence Walker Obituary
September 27, 1964 - March 14, 2022
Florence born in Galt, ON to James Kenneth Hood and Marion Elizabeth Hood (James), passed away on Monday evening. She was the youngest full of life child of seven children, Vera, Dianne, Donald, Meredith, Bonnie and Dorene (Doe-Doe). Florence leaves behind her best friend, her superhero, her beloved husband Todd James Walker who stood by her side and loved her everyday of her life. She also leaves behind her five children, Carlie, Jenna, Stuart, Georgia and Virginia whom brought so much light and joy to her life. Florence, better known as "Maw" to many lived a life full of joy she touched everyone she ever met. Florence could walk into a room and light it up, she was proud of how quickly she could get people to dance - she was contagious! She would wake up every day and made sure to make time for first coffee with Todd, then you had to get outside - and get your hands dirty and your cheeks rosy... she loved the smell of outside on people. Even if you were shoveling a pond or lifting bails of hay she loved to make anything a work out - she'd say "your workouts right here". As high as her highs were, they were also matched with some lows. In the last 17 months she battled severe depression but she is now at peace. And she would want you to know that when she lived, she lived big - she was the perfect example of living life to the fullest. Flo and Todd never stopped dreaming, between raising five children, restoring seven homes, and creating YeeHaw Adventure Farm a destination which sole purpose was to make people laugh and smile, because that's all she wanted. So, as Flo would say... "Get outside and play today"
Funeral is at Forward church on Saturday, March 19th at 11 a.m., there will be no visitation.
All are Welcome!
A private family interment will follow at Kirkwall Cemetery.

Our hearts go out to her family and friends. I first met Flo at YeeHaw and we went for several years - what a joy the whole farm was for all of us. Then I was lucky to meet her again at yoga in Southampton - she was giving, loving, funny, and so genuine. We used to talk about the trees at the beach so we planted a tree in Flos memory. She will always be remembered and I feel lucky to have even met her. Sincere condolences.

Dearest Flo,
I met your beautiful family at Franklin and Elgin Starbucks probably on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I admired how kind and wonderful you were, along with your husband Todd and your lovely children.
You would light up the room, and I will never forget our little chats and how sweet you were to me. Whenever we bumped into each other after Franklin was no more, you and Todd would always give me a big hug.
Now imagine, I was a Barista at one of many Starbucks, but you still remain a sweet core memory of mine. You mean the world to so many people, I am certain of that.

My earliest memories of Florence are from my school days. Being a couple years older than me, Florence was someone who I looked up to. A strong, female influence who was always kind and full of laughter. Later we crossed paths in our early 20´s teaching fitness classes together in Cambridge where again she was so inspiring. When Yee Haw adventure farm began, my children and I would visit every year and of course Florence was a beaming light, entertaining everyone along with her beautiful family. I´m thankful for every interaction we had and for Florence´s inspiring character. RIP Florence

I was so sad to hear of Flo passing and for your loss. Ididnt know Flo personally but she seemed like an amazing woman, mother, wife, friend bringing so much happiness to so many. My beautiful friend from Waterloo Women´s Club. No one made me laugh more. The rest of us covered in sweat with messy hair, and you always had your lipstick perfect and your hair just right- you always looked so beautiful before, during and after teaching a workout LOL Brad and I were Carlie´s first non family babysitters and I´ll never forget your face when we picked her up and put her car seat in a new champagne coloured BMW. We were so sorry and saddened to hear about the passing of Flo. She was always such a bundle of kindness and energy. Her greetings in and around Southampton were always full throttle and will be missed.
We remember fondly the time we all spent together on Laird Lane listening to music (way too loud said Flo as Todd turned up Jamey Johnson) and finishing off all the wine, beer and leftovers from Christmas.

My deepest sympathies to all the family. Flo was such a beautiful woman, inside and outside. Her smile was so infectious. She was adored by her friends and teachers in high school. We ran into each other on many occasions after school, and it was like time had never passed. She always took time to stop and talk to me. She always seemed to be pregnant, or just gave birth to one of her babies when I would run into her at the YMCA lol. She will be very missed and never forgotten.
