Frank ISCHE Obituary

It is with great sadness, that the family of Frank Ische announce his passing at the age of 79, at Freeport Palliative Care Unit, on August 5, 2021.

He was born in Stratford May 13, 1942, grew up in Sebringville. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Judy (Wild), son Marc (Debora), Grandsons (Gustavo and Leandro), plus sister Martha Buck (Andy), Sister-in-law Marilyn Dale (Norman) and his Nieces and Nephews. Pre- Deceased by his parents, Carl & Leila Ische, sister Alyce & Brother-in-laws (Andy Buck and Norman Dale).

Frank and Judy enjoyed many road trips taking in all of Canada and the United States, and some islands in the Caribbean. In 1992 Frank, Judy and Marc headed out to Portland, Oregon for the Tournament of the Americas. The USA dream team, featuring the elite players of the NBA, took part in the basketball precursor to the Barcelona Olympics. The US team took home the gold in Barcelona.

In 2005 Frank and Judy journeyed to Grand Forks, North Dakota to attend the World Junior Hockey tournament. They stopped in Minneapolis to pick up their son Marc and his girlfriend, Debora they had flown in from San Diego. After watching 22 games and seeing Canada winning the gold, they headed home.

He enjoyed 19 years with Kitchener 24th Scout troop. During his scouting years, he attended two Canadian jamborees and one World jamboree in Chile. While in South America, Frank and his fellow scout leaders, Harvey and Peter, also toured Brazil and Argentina.

He was a proud member of Local 804 of the IBEW for 57 years. He often joked that those letters meant, "I've Been Everywhere," and he almost had. After retiring, he became a volunteer bus driver for KW Accessibility. He also found time to maintain the Stanley Park Rink with his fellow neighbours. He enjoyed watching the Kitchener Ranger games on TV and sometimes in person.

Frank was a great husband, father and neighbour. As a popular Sinatra song states, with a slight modification, "He did it his way."

Cremation has taken place at the Kitchener Funeral Homes and Crematorium. A Family Graveside service will take place in the future, and at a later date a celebration of life will be planned. As expressions of Sympathy, donations to the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation and the Grand River Hospital - Freeport Campus would be appreciated.
