Gerhard passed away on January 10, 2023 after a long period of health issues. He is survived by his loving wife Wilma, his sons Peter (and wife Donna) and Dieter and will be sadly missed by his family. Gerhard was the son of Albert and Elisabeth Kroll and one of seven children. Berte, Antonia and Lotar predeceased Gerhard; he is survived by Hilde, Inge and Karl. Gerhard was born in Cologne, Germany on March 6, 1938, and came to Canada in 1964 as a trained Tool and Die Maker. While in Canada he worked mainly for Automated Tooling Systems. He loved to work in his large workshop. He could build anything he put his mind to and took a great deal of pride in whatever he made. He and Wilma loved to cruise, with the Caribbean and Hawaii being their favourites. They went to the Concordia Club in Kitchener and the German Continental Club in Cambridge where they enjoyed dancing to live German bands. There are many people to thank during this difficult time; a few of them are Dr. Mark Brown & Team, Lisaard House staff as well as Palliative Care and PSW staff, Phil & Pat, Andy & Charlotte and Bruce & Joan. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the
Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
