James GUSE Obituary
Passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family, in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Brenda for 55 years. Loving father to Nicole (John) and Shane (Stacey). Cherished Grandpa to Joshua, Madison, Molly, and Aubrey. Dear brother to Ralph Guse (Chesley) and Betty Blythe (Kitchener). Fondly remembered by a loving extended family and numerous friends. Jim practiced hairdressing for 50 plus years. He owned The Hair Studio in the Belmont Plaza, where he made many lifetime friends with both staff and clientele.
Jim loved to entertain and music was always a big part of his life. Jim's love of music and performing was passed on to his children and they were fortunate to travel around the world entertaining together as The Guse Family. Watching his grandchildren take up singing and dancing was a joy to his heart and it was a thrill of a lifetime for Jim to be able to perform with both his children and grandchildren in "The Sounds of Christmas" in recent years. Many thanks to Drs. Lisa and Nick McFarlane, as well as Dr. Vitou and the amazing nurses at the GRH Dialysis Unit for their many years of care. Heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Team and the many PSW's, Nurses and Caregivers over the past two weeks. Jim's family will receive visitors from 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life to follow at a later date. Those wishing to attend Jim's visitation must RSVP through the funeral home website or by calling 519-749-8467. In memory of Jim, donations to the KidsAbility Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. (Cards available at the funeral home).

Kathy and I were very sad to hear of Jim’s passing !
We often reminisce about the trip to New Orleans and the great fun we had. While we moved away almost 40 years ago we think of you often.

Jim was a larger-than-life personality, and his enthusiasm and sparkle were infectious. No project was too big or too ambitious....he was up for all challenges, and met them with his customary positive attitude and determination. We had many, many adventures together with Jim and the family, and by far the most important impact he had was with his audiences, and how happy he and the family made them. It was incredibly special to see that. They all spread warmth, joy and incredible music, all wrapped up in a professional and impressive package. Jim's legacy lives on with his talented family, and the love that he shared with them and with everyone. He will be deeply missed. Sending huge love to the family.
