Jean LINKERT Obituary

LINKERT, Jean Jean passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the age of 85. Devoted and loving mother of Deborah Walsh (Jeff), Donald Stronach and his wife Melissa, and Patricia Carleton. Step-mother of Bill, Joan, and Bob Linkert. Adoring grandmother of Tanya, Michael, Shane, Kayla and Rob. Caring great-grandmother of Alisha, Cierra, Liam, Cameron, Hailey, and Layla. Loving sister of Marjorie Craig. Jean is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her first husband Donald Stronach (1969), second husband Werner Linkert (1990), sisters Ruth, Vera, Gladys, Grace, brother Walter, and sons-in-law Ronald Walsh and Edward Carleton. Jean was born on December 17, 1933 in Saint John, New Brunswick to parents James and Ella Payne. She was a longtime employee of Zehrs Markets. Jean had a zest for life and enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Her passion in life was her children and grandchildren. She loved attending family gatherings with her extended family. She was quick to flash her beautiful smile and her great sense of humor and ""gift to gab"" made her well-liked by everyone she met. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau will follow the service. After the interment, a reception will be held in the funeral home's Fireside Room. Condolences for the family and donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Columbia Forest Long Term Care for their loving and compassionate care.

So sorry to hear of Jean's passing. She was my sisterinlaw as she was married to my brother Donald her first husband. I knew Jean from the time I was very young. She was a great person and always laughing. Please accept my apologies for being so late in giving my condolences to her family.
