Jim HANEY

Passed away peacefully at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in his 88th year. Dear son of the late Joseph and Catherine Haney. Beloved husband of the late Mary Haney (1982). Loving father of the Ron Haney (Monica), Bruce Haney (Penny), and Theresa (Robin) Lapointe (Mike). Cherished grandfather of Shannon, Vincent, Ben, Bryan, Jessica, Bryce, Justin, Samantha and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Catherine McMillan (Richard). Companion to the late Val Babb and her family. Jim was predeceased by son Jim Haney (2021) and sister Theresa Haney. Jim also known as "Cricket" will be sadly missed. Proud member of the Hespeler Community, St. Mary of the Visitation Parish all his life, Hespeler Legion Branch #272, and Knights of Columbus. Jim worked at Strite Industries for over 40 years. Avid Horseshoes, Euchre, Snooker, Washoos, Golf and Bowling player and a true Toronto Maple Leaf and Toronto Blue Jays fan. Jim was known as a friend to many people always willing to lend a helping hand and will be missed by his community and extended family. Jim's family will receive family and friends at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Sunday, August 21st from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, 16 Cooper Street, Cambridge on Monday, August 22nd at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St, Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
